Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Francisco Civintiani (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kris Gunn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Francisco Civintiani!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kris Gunn!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Winston Alpacca and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gunn avoids the head kick by Civintiani.
Gunn shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Civintiani but Civintiani pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Civintiani closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Gunn quickly recovers to half guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Gunn is trying to get back to full guard.

Civintiani tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Gunn.
Gunn wants to get back to full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Civintiani might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Gunn is controlling Civintiani's posture.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Kris Gunn wasn't active enough on the ground.

Civintiani closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Gunn's guard.
Gunn is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Civintiani wants to control from the top but Gunn keeps moving.
Gunn is pulling down on Civintiani's head to control his posture.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Gunn goes for a double leg but Civintiani avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Civintiani continues to drive forward.
Gunn wants a takedown.
Francisco Civintiani has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kris Gunn.
Gunn is trying to drag Civintiani to the mat but Civintiani just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Civintiani manages to break the clinch.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Civintiani wants to land a leg kick but Gunn is out of range.

Civintiani gets caught flat footed, as Gunn shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Gunn thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Gunn drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gunn jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Civintiani could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gunn throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Civintiani works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Gunn is looking to work some ground and pound but Civintiani has wrist control.

Civintiani is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Gunn wants to work for an arm triangle but Civintiani is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Gunn is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Civintiani defends it well.

Gunn is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Civintiani doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gunn.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and Civintiani counters with a nice right hand that sends Gunn toppling to the canvas! Gunn scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Civintiani finish him?!

It looks like Kris Gunn has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Oooooh!!! Civintiani has knocked Gunn down with a huge combo! Civintiani steps away and waves a wobbly Gunn back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Gunn is still on wobbly legs! Can Civintiani finish him?
Francisco Civintiani is winning the standup battle so far.
Civintiani steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Gunn is out on his feet! Civintiani sets himself and nearly takes Gunn's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Francisco Civintiani!
Francisco Civintiani seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
