The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rostowski postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Ward is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Rostowski, into his guard.

Ward really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rostowski. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Rostowski drops back, looking for a kneebar! Ward looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Ward looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Ward!

Rostowski shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ward but Ward pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Tommy Ward seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ward decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Ward stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ward wants it to stay on the feet.

Rostowski throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Ward escapes and throws Rostowski's legs to the side, diving into side control!
