The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mabuva takes a swing at Irene's ribcage but misses.
Irene shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mabuva sprawls well. Mabuva wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Irene gets slowly back to his feet.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Mabuva misses with a low kick.
Irene fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Irene looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Mabuva is trying to stand.
Irene wants to free his trapped foot but Mabuva is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Irene trying to control from Mabuva's half guard. Mabuva has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mabuva wants to stand and escape but Irene is having none of it.
Irene postures up in Mabuva's guard and throws a big left but Mabuva blocks it.

Mabuva uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Irene tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Mabuva defends well and Irene ends up having to push Mabuva into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Irene tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Mabuva's elbow.
Irene has Mabuva pressed against the cage, preventing Mabuva from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Irene unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Mabuva! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Irene is unloading with more strikes now! Mabuva drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!

Goodnight Irene decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
