Moratelli comes to the cage accompanied by Hell March. Paul Moratelli could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Viktor Volchanchin's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paul Moratelli!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Viktor Volchanchin!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Alexandre Firmino and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Moratelli misses.
Volchanchin takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Volchanchin has a takedown stuffed.
Volchanchin looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Volchanchin shoots in looking for a takedown. Moratelli tries to sprawl out of it but Volchanchin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Moratelli manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Paul Moratelli has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Viktor Volchanchin.
Moratelli closes the distance and lands a one-two.


It looks like Viktor Volchanchin has been cut.

Volchanchin decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Volchanchin uses his free foot to push down on Moratelli's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Moratelli.

Volchanchin is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Moratelli has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Moratelli!
Volchanchin is striking from the bottom but Moratelli uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.

Moratelli wants to lay and pray for a moment but Volchanchin keeps working.
Moratelli knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Volchanchin on the ground.

Volchanchin is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Moratelli pulls his head out easily.
Volchanchin tries to roll over but Moratelli keeps him under control.
Moratelli is keen to just control but Volchanchin is a slippery customer.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Moratelli throws a nice inside leg kick.
Volchanchin looks gassed!
Moratelli slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Moratelli lands with an overhand left.
Moratelli clobbers Volchanchin with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Volchanchin checks a leg kick.
Volchanchin shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Moratelli as he avoids it easily.

Moratelli lands a nice shot to the body.

Moratelli connects with a nice looking jab.
Moratelli cracks Volchanchin with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Volchanchin avoids the head kick by Moratelli.
Moratelli drops Volchanchin with a right and a left! Moratelli comes rushing in but Volchanchin regains his composure and manages to keep Moratelli in guard.

Moratelli controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Moratelli has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Volchanchin has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Moratelli is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Volchanchin.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Moratelli is staying tight to Volchanchin's torso, preventing him from escaping.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Volchanchin tries to improve position but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Moratelli lands with an uppercut that bounces Volchanchin off the cage and back into rage.
Moratelli lands an overhand right.
Moratelli fails to land with a series of punches.
Volchanchin misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
The fighters circle momentarily. Moratelli darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Moratelli looks to land a combination. Volchanchin sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Moratelli throws a shot to the body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Volchanchin takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Volchanchin is still on wobbly legs! Can Moratelli finish him?
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Moratelli.
Volchanchin seems to have recovered his senses.
Moratelli throws a nice looking combination but Volchanchin bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Moratelli misses with a two punch combination.

Volchanchin is breathing heavily.
Volchanchin looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Moratelli lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Volchanchin backs up against the cage.
Volchanchin takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Volchanchin closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Moratelli Rushes Volchanchin and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Volchanchin is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Moratelli Piles on the pressure and Volchanchin crumples to the floor! This one is all over!
