PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Max Stanley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brenton Bryce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stanley comes into the arena with Frotch Retirement Jam blaring out of the sound system. On his way into the cage it seems that Max Stanley has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Max Stanley seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Max Stanley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Brenton Bryce!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Winston Alpacca and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bryce scores with a shot to the body.
Bryce moves in looking to clinch but Stanley pushes him off.
Bryce throws a sloppy head kick and Stanley moves out of range easily.
Bryce fails in his attempt to clinch.
Stanley lands a two punch combo.


It looks like Brenton Bryce has been cut.

Bryce gets caught flat footed, as Stanley shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Stanley's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Stanley slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Stanley looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Bryce really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Stanley. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Bryce tries to bench press Stanley off him but Stanley keeps the position.
Stanley wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bryce keeps working.
Stanley works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stanley misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Stanley wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bryce, who protects the arm well.

Stanley thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Stanley working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Stanley is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Bryce looks calm but he's in trouble here. Stanley gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Bryce is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Stanley lets go of the hold and Bryce can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Max Stanley!
Max Stanley made sure to give a little speech post fight, saying 'BACK ON TRACK AAAAAAHIYOYOYOYOYOYOBACKAKAKAKAKAKAKYEAHYEAHYEAHYEAHYEAHHHHH!'.
Brenton Bryce was interviewed post fight and said '... I was outdone tonight, I'm not done though believe you me. Thanks for the opportunity '.
