Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Albright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Andrews (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Albright comes into the arena with Rascal Deep Down blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jimmy Albright!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Paul Andrews!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Albright shoots in looking for a takedown. Andrews tries to sprawl out of it but Albright keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Andrews manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Albright looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Albright is working for a submission of some sort.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Andrews wants to control but Albright is keeping busy.
Albright thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Andrews is trying to control but can't.
Andrews moves into full guard.
Albright trying to control but Andrews is working from the bottom.

Andrews trying to keep a closed guard but Albright is proving a slippery customer.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Andrews throws a right and a left that both miss.

Albright tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Andrews smiles and moves away.
Albright looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Albright misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Albright closes this distance looking for a takedown but Andrews circles away.
Andrews stuffs the takedown attempt from Albright. Albright gets slowly back to his feet.
Andrews throws a head kick but Albright moves out of range.
Albright shoots for a double leg takedown but Andrews sprawls well. He's pushed Albright's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Andrews bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Andrews wants to lay and pray for a moment but Albright keeps working.
Albright tries to improve position but can't.

Andrews really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Albright. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Albright is breathing heavily.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Albright ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Albright no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Andrews avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Andrews trying to control the position from guard on top but Albright is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Andrews's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Andrews lands an elbow that stopped Albright in his tracks for a moment.

Albright throws a knee to the head but misses.

Albright drags the fight down to the ground.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Andrews sitting in guard here, content to control.
Albright is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Albright working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Andrews doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Andrews manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Albright had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Andrews is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Albright Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Andrews's back instead.
