Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sam Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Janusz Gawrolek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gawrolek has chosen Maciaz - Heroes of Our Times as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gawrolek gets caught napping as Rogers dives in and scores a takedown. Gawrolek manages to retain guard.
Gawrolek avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Rogers throws a big right hand that misses.
Rogers content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Gawrolek is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Gawrolek has a closed guard, preventing Rogers from standing up.

Rogers throws a strike but Gawrolek rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Gawrolek drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Rogers manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Gawrolek has Rogers in his guard.

Rogers throws an elbow that misses. Gawrolek uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Rogers's guard. Nice move by Gawrolek!

Rogers wants to get back to his feet but Gawrolek is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Gawrolek thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Rogers is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Gawrolek content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Gawrolek won't allow Rogers to get back to his feet.
Gawrolek wants to pass the guard but Rogers is keeping the position.
Rogers is scooting his butt against the ropes and has managed to get back to his feet. Gawrolek presses him back against the ropes, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Rogers prevents a body shot from Gawrolek.
Rogers is pressed up against the ropes. Gawrolek has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Rogers down to the mat. Rogers avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Gawrolek tries to close the distance and clinch but Rogers swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Gawrolek fails in his attempt to clinch.
Rogers's corner calls for a 1-2. Rogers obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Rogers connects with a nice looking jab.
No joy there for Rogers, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Rogers will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Gawrolek has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

and Rogers counters with a stiff right hand.
Rogers closes the distance and clinches up with Gawrolek, looking for a takedown. Rogers pushes Gawrolek against the ropes but Gawrolek circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Rogers fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Gawrolek on the side of the head.

Gawrolek is still on wobbly legs! Can Rogers finish him?

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Rogers pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Gawrolek seems to have recovered his senses.
Gawrolek tries to clinch but Rogers moves away
and Rogers counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Gawrolek moves in looking to clinch but Rogers pushes him off.
Rogers defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Gawrolek.
Sam Rogers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Janusz Gawrolek.

and Rogers counters with a straight right hand.
The fighters circling - Rogers throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Rogers fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Rogers dives in and grabs Gawrolek's left leg, looking for a takedown. Gawrolek pushes down on Rogers's head and hops out.
Gawrolek shoots in but Rogers avoids the takedown attempt easily.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Gawrolek.
Gawrolek on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Oh, that's a big right hand from Rogers and Gawrolek goes tumbling to the canvas! Rogers follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard.
Gawrolek is refusing to be controlled, as Rogers sits in half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Rogers connects with a nice short shot to Gawrolek's temple.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sam Rogers dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!
Rogers lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Gawrolek head around and knocks him out cold! Rogers hops onto the ropes and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Sam Rogers!
Sam Rogers decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
