Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wojciech Durlak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joe Walters!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Durlak tries to sprawl but Walters drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Walters looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Walters looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
It looks like Walters might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

That's one minute gone in the round.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Joe Walters hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Walters shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Joe Walters wasn't active enough on the ground.
Durlak throws a low kick but Walters moves out of range easily.

Walters shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Walters showed some decent athleticism there.
Durlak knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Walters on the ground.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Walters is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Walters is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Walters is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Walters looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joe Walters dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Walters shoots in and bounces Durlak off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Durlak can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Walters controls the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Wojciech Durlak.
Durlak swinging wildly here.
Durlak misses with a wild combination.
Durlak moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.


It looks like Wojciech Durlak has been cut.
Walters fails with a takedown attempt.

Walters throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Durlak was covering up waiting for the punch and Walters finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Walters tries to free his leg and advance position but Durlak is retaining full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Joe Walters was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Walters manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Durlak on his heels. He'll look to pass Durlak's guard now, I'm sure.
Walters looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Walters throws a strike but Durlak rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Walters pushes a forearm under Durlak's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Durlak is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Joe Walters!
