PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hiruku Matah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marco Marcolini (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matah comes to the cage accompanied by Walker the Texas Ranger Theme. Marcolini comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Raffaella Carra - Rumore kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hiruku Matah!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 18 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marco Marcolini!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Anthony Taglia and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Marcolini enables Matah to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Marcolini manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Marcolini has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Matah can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

We've been hearing that Matah has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Marcolini escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Matah gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Marcolini is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Matah has just dragged him back down to the mat.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
