PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Fred Mcdaniel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Robertson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Fred Mcdaniel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Robertson!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mcdaniel closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Robertson to the mat! Robertson manages to get full guard.
Mcdaniel has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Mcdaniel throwing strikes from guard but Robertson blocks nicely.
Robertson is controlling Mcdaniel's posture.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Robertson is on top in guard.
Robertson is fighting to break Mcdaniel's control of his arms but Mcdaniel is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Robertson controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Robertson throwing strikes from guard but Mcdaniel blocks nicely.

Mcdaniel escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Robertson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Robertson forces his way into half guard.
Still in half guard, Robertson seems content to control.
Let's hope that Robertson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Robertson tries to stand and escape but Mcdaniel is controlling the position.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Robertson in particular looking to stall.

Robertson is trying to work for a kimura but Mcdaniel is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mcdaniel trying to control but Robertson postures up.
Robertson works his way into side control.
Robertson wants to stand but Mcdaniel has his arm trapped.
Robertson is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Robertson working the ground and pound but Mcdaniel is defending the strikes.

Robertson has hold of Mcdaniel's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Mcdaniel seems comfortable defending it but Robertson has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Mcdaniel is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Mcdaniel is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Robertson couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jack Robertson!
