Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Barry Mills!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Bruno Lombardi and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mills throws a half hearted mid kick.
Ellis slips a jab and a cross from Mills.
Ellis ducks under a wild hook from Mills.
Mills throws a left and a right that both miss
and Ellis counters with a straight right hand.
Mills misses the shot to the body.
Ellis avoids the head kick by Mills.
Ellis really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Mills gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Ellis to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Mills wants to get back to his feet but Ellis is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Ellis looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Mills utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Mills wants to stand up but Ellis is controlling him.

Mills will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Mills cracks Ellis with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Ellis closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Mills quickly recovers to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ellis is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Mills has managed to free his arm - good work.

Mills kicks Ellis off and gets back to his feet.
Ellis takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Ellis blocks a low kick nicely.
Ellis takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Mills finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Mills swings for the body but Ellis moves out of range.

Ellis clinches.
Mills creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Mills throws a punch but it's blocked by Ellis.
Mills tries to land knees in the clinch but Ellis avoids the damage to the body.
Mills tries to land a knee to the head but Ellis blocks with his arms.
Ellis managing to block the knees to the body from Mills.
Mills misses with a knee to the head.
Ellis goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Ellis pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Mills misses with a hook
and Ellis counters with a nice body shot.
Mills throws a low kick, looking for Ellis's leg but Ellis calmly moves out of range.
Mills stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mills wants it to stay on the feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Mills throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Mills falls off balance throwing a combination
and Mills takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Ellis tries to clinch there but Mills circles away.
Mills throws a sloppy head kick and Ellis moves out of range easily.
A slow jab from Mills misses its intended target.
Mills misses with the combination.
Ellis shoots in and drives through. Mills sprawls well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mills throws a right hand that Ellis ducks under and follows up with a left that Ellis also avoids with ease.
Mills tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Barry Mills will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



A momentary lapse in concentration from Mills enables Ellis to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mills manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Mills wants to get back to his feet but Ellis is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Ellis postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Ellis stands up from Mills's guard - Ellis perhaps looking for a knockout.
Mills misses with a head kick.
Mills misses with a two punch combination.
Mills fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Mills tried to score with a low kick but Ellis checks it.
Mills is breathing heavily.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Ellis misses with a punch to the body.

Ellis changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Mills fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Mills throws a right hand that Ellis ducks under and follows up with a left that Ellis also avoids with ease.

Ellis shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Ellis drops back looking for a leg! Mills is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mills manages to kick Ellis off! Ellis jumps back into Mills's guard.
Mills wants to stand and escape but Ellis is having none of it.
Ellis is in close to Mills's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Mills is looking to stand up but Ellis isn't so interested in that idea.
Ellis lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Mills is wriggling around but Ellis manages to pass to half guard.
Mills is trying to stand up here but Ellis is controlling him well.
Ellis lands with a punch from half guard.
Ellis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Ellis is trying to control the action in half guard but Mills is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Mills wants to stand back up but Ellis manages to pass into side control.

Ellis tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ellis has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Mills is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Ellis is controlling him well.
