PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Keith Glenn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jordan Belfort (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Glenn comes to the cage accompanied by Seven Nation Army. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Keith Glenn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jordan Belfort !
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Glenn lands a really nice looking cross but Belfort seems unphased.
Glenn fails to land with a series of punches.
Belfort scores with a punch to the head.
Belfort takes one to the chin there.
Glenn takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Glenn misses with a wild body shot.
Belfort darts in trying to clinch
and Glenn makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

and Belfort counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Belfort throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Glenn to regain full guard.
Glenn avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Belfort trying to control the position from guard on top but Glenn is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Glenn not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Belfort has gone for a leg lock! Glenn slips out almost immediately though and dives into Belfort 's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Belfort had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Glenn defends it easily.

Belfort is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Glenn defends well.

Glenn will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Belfort tries to control but Glenn wriggling away.

Belfort scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Glenn is trying to get back to full guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Belfort lands a nice short elbow.

Glenn manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Belfort lands an uppercut.
Belfort 's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Glenn takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Belfort walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Glenn works Belfort 's body with a nice hook.
Glenn fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Belfort manages to avoid it.
Belfort pulls out of a head kick attempt.

and Glenn counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Belfort thinking.

Glenn swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Glenn throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Glenn throws a right and a left that Belfort avoids nicely.
Keith Glenn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Belfort throws out a leg kick but Glenn moves out of range and Belfort only half commits.

Glenn throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Glenn throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Keith Glenn is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Horrible takedown by Glenn or perhaps it was just good defense by Belfort which made him look bad.
The crowd cheers as Glenn lands an impressive looking overhand right. Belfort doesn't seem phased though.

Glenn cracks Belfort with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Glenn shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Belfort 's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Belfort bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Glenn's guard.

Belfort stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Glenn swivels though and keeps the full guard.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jordan Belfort was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Belfort misses with a kick to the body.
Glenn throws a hook but Belfort avoids it easily.
Belfort pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Glenn tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Belfort was well out of range. Poor timing from Glenn.
Glenn throws a chopping leg kick but Belfort manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Glenn misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Keith Glenn is winning the standup battle so far.
Glenn doesn't manage to clinch there - Belfort circles away.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Glenn swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Belfort displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Glenn throws out the jab.
Glenn is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Belfort has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Glenn fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Belfort manages to avoid it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Keith Glenn will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Glenn swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Belfort doesn't manage to clinch there - Glenn circles away.

Glenn ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Belfort moves away.
Belfort tries to score a power double leg takedown but Glenn sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Belfort somewhat.

Come on Glenn - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Belfort jumps guard but Glenn turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Keith Glenn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jordan Belfort .
Belfort lands with a right to the head.
Glenn tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Belfort tries to pull guard but Glenn forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Belfort presses Glenn against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Belfort swings wildly with an uppercut but Glenn uses good head movement to avoid it.

Glenn is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Belfort pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Glenn tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Glenn gets through Belfort 's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Glenn changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Belfort fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Belfort closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Glenn did well to prevent Belfort getting side control.

Belfort thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Glenn won't allow Belfort to pass to mount.
Glenn is pressing down on Belfort 's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Glenn controls Belfort momentarily but Belfort frees himself.

Belfort looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Belfort has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Belfort wants to free his trapped foot but Glenn is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Jordan Belfort comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Belfort has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
