Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Shelton Ramirez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Saro Fassapella!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Steven Brown and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ramirez.
Ramirez shoots for a double leg takedown but Fassapella sprawls well. He's pushed Ramirez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Fassapella shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ramirez's guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Ramirez pulls Fassapella in close to his closed guard and prevents Fassapella from doing any damage or advancing position.
Ramirez really is a fat lump.
Fassapella throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ramirez works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Saro Fassapella showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Fassapella goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Ramirez rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Fassapella's guard! Nice work there by Ramirez!

Ramirez is in close to Fassapella's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Ramirez stands up over Fassapella, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Fassapella can do anything to dispel that myth.
Ramirez would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Fassapella is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Fassapella. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

We're going to have a standup here because Shelton Ramirez wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ramirez is defended easily by Fassapella.

Fassapella ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Fassapella no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Shelton Ramirez.
Well Fassapella has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
