Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Serge Carpenter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jebidiah Knepp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Knepp's choice of entrance music: Amish Paradise. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carpenter shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Carpenter was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Carpenter can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Knepp is looking to escape.
Carpenter won't let Knepp get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carpenter postures up and lands a big shot to Knepp's brow.
Carpenter trying to control the position from guard on top but Knepp is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Carpenter not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Carpenter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Knepp swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Knepp is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Carpenter frees his head nicely. Oh but Knepp has switched to an armbar! Carpenter is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
