PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rustin Cohle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Krzysztof Czeplak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Czeplak has chosen Do przodu Polsko as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rustin Cohle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Krzysztof Czeplak!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Aafke Stam and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cohle moves forwards but Czeplak connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Czeplak circles away from the clinch attempt.
Cohle tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Czeplak swivels and escapes.
Cohle tries to clinch there but Czeplak circles away.
Cohle stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Cohle wants it to stay on the feet.

Czeplak gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Czeplak holds on and takes a little breather.
Cohle stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Czeplak swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Czeplak is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Cohle wants to control from the top but Czeplak keeps moving.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Czeplak is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Cohle gets to his feet - Czeplak follows without any prompting.
Czeplak fails to land with a series of punches.
Czeplak throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Cohle moves into the clinch.
Cohle is working for takedown but Czeplak is calmly controlling the position for now.
Cohle has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Czeplak avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rustin Cohle. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cohle has Czeplak pressed against the cage, preventing Czeplak from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Czeplak tries to break free but Cohle pushes him back against the cage.
Cohle is trying to drag Czeplak to the mat but Czeplak just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Czeplak is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cohle has Czeplak pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Czeplak manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Czeplak has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Cohle clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Cohle is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cohle is keeping busy.
I really don't envy Cohle right now.

Czeplak is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Cohle defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cohle is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

Czeplak has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Cohle is in bad spot here.

Czeplak is trying to stick to Cohle's back but Cohle is turning into Czeplak. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Czeplak's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Cohle.
Czeplak looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Czeplak bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Cohle's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cohle not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Cohle is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Czeplak defends well.

Czeplak is posturing up here but Cohle has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Czeplak tries to roll out but it's too tight and Czeplak has to tap! Slick submission there by Cohle!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Rustin Cohle!
In defeat, Krzysztof Czeplak stepped up to the mic, saying 'I would do everything to fight better in the future. '.
