The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murphy tries to land a front kick but Jones steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Jones doesn't manage to clinch there - Murphy circles away.
Murphy on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Jones.
A slapping leg kick lands for Jones.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Murphy.
Murphy missing with a left hand there. Jones was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Jones has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Murphy is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Murphy scores with a nice right hand.
We've been hearing reports that Murphy has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Murphy tries to clinch but Jones is having none of it.

and Jones counters with a solid body kick.
Murphy lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jones breaks from the clinch.
Jones shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Murphy sprawls well. Murphy wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jones gets slowly back to his feet.

Murphy tries to bum rush Jones with a series of wild strikes but Jones uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Jones tries a body shot but Murphy blocks it.

Jones's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Murphy fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Murphy misses with a low kick as Jones jumps back.

Murphy rushes Jones and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.
Jones is looking to control Murphy's arms but Murphy gets an underhook and turns him. Now Jones has his back to the ropes.

Jones breaks the clinch.

Murphy takes the fight into the clinch.
Murphy has Jones pressed against the ropes.

Murphy scores with a nice hook to the head.

Jones is rocked!

Murphy successfully pulls guard.
Jones is still in real trouble! Can Murphy finish him?
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Murphy escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jones gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Murphy is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jones defends well.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Murphy pulls Jones in close to prevent any damage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Murphy manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Murphy is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Jones is surviving well by controlling Murphy's body position as best he can.
Murphy postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Jones bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Murphy and the fight is over!
