Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John MacMillen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Anavar Punch!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
MacMillen misses with a right hand
and Punch counters with a nice uppercut.
MacMillen has been working on his boxing with his coaches at [CBK] Punch-kicker Academy in the buildup to the fight.
Punch throws a leg kick that is checked
and MacMillen counters with a nice body kick.
MacMillen throws the left hand but Punch avoids the punch easily.
Punch fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
MacMillen throws out a loose jab but Punch uses good head movement to avoid it.
Punch misses with a hook
and MacMillen counters with a two punch combo.
Nice body punch from Punch.
Punch tries to move into range but MacMillen moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Punch has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Punch is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by MacMillen.
MacMillen misses with a straight right.
Punch throws a big shot that misses.
MacMillen takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
MacMillen lands with a hook. Punch tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
A low kick from Punch misses
and MacMillen cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Punch is rocked!
It looks like Anavar Punch has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as MacMillen checks a leg kick.
A solid leg kick lands there for Punch.
Punch blocks a head kick by MacMillen.
MacMillen jabbing away but nothing is landing.
MacMillen is pinned up against the ropes taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
The fighters circling - MacMillen throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Punch throws a jab when MacMillen was well out of range.
A telegraphed right hand from Punch misses the target.
MacMillen moves out of range of the strikes.
MacMillen misses with the combination.
Punch swings for the body but MacMillen moves out of range.
MacMillen throws a nice head kick!
Punch is still on wobbly legs! Can MacMillen finish him?
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
MacMillen throws a hook to the side of Punch's head but Punch sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Punch bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
MacMillen misses with a two punch combination.
Punch misses with a few strikes there.
Punch seems to have recovered his senses.
Punch jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
MacMillen throws a switch kick that catches Punch on the top of the head and drops him to the canvas! Punch looks hurt - I'm not sure he's going to get back up! The referee starts the count but calls it off at seven as Punch flops around on the canvas, clearly in no position to continue! This fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). John MacMillen!
John MacMillen was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
