Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Trenton Oliver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pepe Carlos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Trenton Oliver!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Pepe Carlos!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paul Aken and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carlos moves into the clinch.
Oliver changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Carlos fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Oliver slaps away a takedown attempt from Carlos, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Carlos misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Carlos throws a series of punches but Oliver avoids them all with ease.
Carlos throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Carlos darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Oliver actively working from the bottom here.

Carlos stays in close to Oliver's body and controls the position.
Carlos won't allow Oliver to sweep him here.
Carlos works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Carlos prevents Oliver from improving his position.
Oliver really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Carlos looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Carlos stalling away here and it's allowed Oliver to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Carlos throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Carlos advances to half guard.
It looks like Carlos is going to stand back up.
Oliver tries to get to full guard but Carlos has control of the leg.
Oliver holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Oliver is trying to get back to full guard.
Carlos with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Carlos with the ground and pound but Oliver uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Carlos working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Oliver's head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Carlos is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Oliver keeping moving, preventing Carlos from controlling successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Pepe Carlos.

Carlos moves into the clinch successfully.
Carlos pushes Oliver back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Oliver wants to take the fight to the mat but Carlos manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Oliver wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Oliver tries for a takedown. No joy.

Carlos jumps into guard, dragging Oliver to the mat.
Carlos trying to keep a closed guard but Oliver is proving a slippery customer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pepe Carlos dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Carlos rushes Oliver and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Carlos escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Carlos looks for a takedown but Oliver sprawls well.
Oliver avoids the head kick by Carlos.
Carlos ducks under a wild hook from Oliver.
Oliver throws a head kick that misses.
Carlos tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Oliver defends well and Carlos ends up having to push Oliver into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Oliver changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Carlos fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Carlos has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Oliver is landing a low percentage of strikes.

and Oliver counters with a nice double leg into side control. Carlos won't be happy with that.

Carlos is looking for a sweep.
Oliver knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Carlos on the ground.

Oliver tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Carlos misses with a strike from the bottom.

Carlos manages to get back to half guard.
Carlos slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Oliver wants to get up but he can't break Carlos's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Carlos has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Oliver can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Carlos is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Oliver presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Carlos's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Carlos fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Carlos will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Trenton Oliver has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pepe Carlos.

Oliver tries to keep at a distance but Carlos has taken the fight into the clinch.
Carlos prevents a takedown attempt there.

Oliver is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Oliver has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Carlos is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Carlos breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Pepe Carlos showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Carlos throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Oliver's waist but Oliver gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Carlos off to one side.
A looping hook to the body misses from Carlos. Oliver does a little dance to reset his feet.

Carlos closes the distance and pushes Oliver back into the cage.
Carlos gets underhooks to prevent Oliver's takedown attempt.
Oliver tries for a takedown but Carlos manages to get underhooks.
Oliver wants a takedown.

Oliver tries to pull guard but Carlos holds him up against the cage and eventually Oliver drops back down to his feet.

Carlos gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Oliver regains guard.

Oliver uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Oliver throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Carlos tries for a takedown but Oliver circles away easily

and Oliver counters with a nice double leg into side control. Carlos won't be happy with that.
Carlos is looking for a sweep.

Carlos explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

Oliver gets tackled into the cage by Carlos. Carlos maintains the clinch.

Carlos gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Carlos stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Oliver swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Carlos drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Carlos jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Carlos loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Carlos wants to control from the top but Oliver keeps moving.
Carlos with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Carlos sitting in guard, not really doing much.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Pepe Carlos was stalling too much, according to the referee.
No luck for Carlos with that takedown attempt.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Carlos closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Oliver to the mat! Oliver manages to get full guard.
Carlos scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Carlos wants to control from the top but Oliver keeps moving.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Carlos throws a big elbow that misses.

And that's the end of the fight!
Pepe Carlos comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Carlos has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
