Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Benji Cheshire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mookie Hamfist (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Benji Cheshire!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mookie Hamfist!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Hamfist.
Hamfist throws a hook but Cheshire avoids it easily.
Cheshire doesn't manage to clinch there - Hamfist circles away.
Hamfist has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Hamfist avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Cheshire tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hamfist paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Hamfist rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Cheshire moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Hamfist just misses with a punch to the body.

Cheshire wants to clinch.
Cheshire seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Cheshire tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cheshire has his hands clasped together around Hamfist's back. He's all about the action.

Hamfist has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Cheshire is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Hamfist.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Cheshire in particular looking to stall.
