Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Freddie Benson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Freddie Benson has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Freddie Benson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Johnny Wallace!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Benson tries to clinch up

and Wallace counters with a shoot takedown. Benson fights it but they end up in guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Wallace is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Wallace thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Wallace content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Benson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Wallace doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Wallace manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Benson can't keep his opponent in guard - Wallace advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wallace stops Benson from getting back to his feet.
Wallace has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Wallace looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Benson is looking to escape.
Wallace lands with a punch from half guard.

Wallace is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Benson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Wallace.

Wallace is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Benson sees it coming and defends easily.
Benson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wallace on the ground.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Wallace seems to be looking for submissions.
Benson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Wallace is working away from the top position though.

Benson is looking for a sweep. Wallace is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Benson is breathing heavily.

Wallace in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Benson tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Wallace!

Johnny Wallace decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
