PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chris Adebisi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derka Derka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Adebisi's entrance music is Alice in Chains - Here Comes the Rooster. A fine choice. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Chris Adebisi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Derka Derka!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Roosa Järviläinen and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adebisi keeps the fight on the outside.

Derka drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Adebisi manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Derka has Adebisi in his guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Derka is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Derka is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Derka working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

No joy there for Derka, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Derka shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Adebisi as he jumps to the side.
