Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Agustin Reyes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danny Lugo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Agustin Reyes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Danny Lugo!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Paulsen Ambrosius and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reyes swats away the attempt to clinch by Lugo.
A combination from Lugo does no damage.
Reyes looking to land some kicks to the body here.

Lugo throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Reyes was covering up waiting for the punch and Lugo finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Lugo throwing strikes from guard but Reyes blocks nicely.
Lugo would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Reyes is working an open guard so Lugo takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Lugo fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Reyes looks for a takedown but Lugo sprawls well.

and Reyes moves into the clinch.

Lugo throws a nice looking combination but Reyes bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Lugo tries to clinch up but Reyes circles away and keeps his distance.

and Reyes counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Lugo!

Reyes has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Danny Lugo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

It looks like Agustin Reyes has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Lugo gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Lugo wants to get back to striking at distance but Reyes won't allow it.

Lugo throws a series of punches but Reyes moves out of range.
Reyes with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Lugo to score with a decent uppercut.

Reyes had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Lugo defends it easily.

Reyes has a closed guard, preventing Lugo from standing up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lugo missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Reyes controls Lugo momentarily but Lugo frees himself.
Lugo must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Lugo wants to stand but Reyes has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

We're going to have a standup here because Agustin Reyes wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Lugo looks to land a combination. Reyes sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Reyes really is a fat lump.

Reyes shoots in looking for a takedown but Lugo manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Reyes's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

and Reyes holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Lugo wants to break free but Reyes has control.
Lugo has Reyes pressed against the cage.

Reyes breaks the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Lugo has Reyes up against the cage in a clinch.

Lugo pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Lugo shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Reyes is looking to escape.
Lugo with the ground and pound but Reyes uses the opportunity to regain guard.

Lugo looking to sit in guard and control but Reyes gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Reyes gets to his feet - Lugo follows without any prompting.
Lugo throws a combination that misses
and Reyes counters with a one-two to the body.
Lugo misses with a jab, cross combination.
Lugo tries a head kick but it misses.
Lugo tries to clinch up.

Lugo scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Lugo is breathing heavily.
Lugo working the ground and pound.
Lugo working the strikes but Reyes uses the opportunity to regain half guard.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Lugo looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Reyes with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Lugo seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Lugo slips a nice elbow through Reyes's hands, connecting with Reyes's forehead.

Lugo looks to land a strike but Reyes avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Lugo tries to stand but Reyes is controlling from the bottom.
Reyes might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Reyes looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lugo is one step ahead there.
Lugo lands a couple of digs.

Lugo gets to his feet. Reyes looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Reyes throws a one two combo.
Lugo fails with an attempt to clinch.
Lugo throws a right and a left that Reyes avoids nicely.
Lugo misses the body punch

and Reyes counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Reyes.

Lugo has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Reyes clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Reyes trying to control the hands but Lugo breaks the grip.
Reyes turns into Lugo and is now in his guard.

Reyes stands up and waves to Lugo to follow him.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lugo drives through with a takedown into Reyes's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Reyes looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Lugo avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Lugo wanted to stand there but Reyes had control of the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Reyes manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lugo manages to get himself to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Danny Lugo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Lugo looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Reyes with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Lugo scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Reyes gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Reyes tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Lugo is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Reyes buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Reyes!! Reyes is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Lugo throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:20 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Danny Lugo!
