PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between James Jameson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eugene Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lee comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Eye of the Tiger kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Eugene Lee told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jameson takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Jameson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Lee.

Jameson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lee looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Lee is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Jameson throws a strike aimed at the side of Lee's head but Lee avoids it well.
Jameson fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Lee avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Jameson.
Jameson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Lee scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Jameson looks to score with a jab to the body but Lee is just out of range.

Jameson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lee's guard.

A nice inside leg kick there by Lee. That's going to slow Jameson down.
Jameson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lee is fending him off so far but Jameson persists. Nope, Lee circles away and we're back to standing.

Jameson throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Lee stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Lee tries to bum rush Jameson with a series of wild strikes but Jameson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Jameson lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Jameson.
Lee takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Jameson lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Lee has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Lee and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Jameson takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Lee rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jameson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
