Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Martin Louis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gim Ruut (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Louis comes to the cage accompanied by Stand up and Fight. Ruut has chosen Taree - Soundgarden as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruut keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

and Louis counters with a big head kick but Ruut shrugs it off.

The fighters circling - Louis throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Ruut shoots for a takedown but Louis saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Ruut has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Ruut crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Louis - the referee stops the clock and Ruut gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Louis. Ruut manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Ruut jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Louis is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Louis and Ruut has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Ruut goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Louis has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Ruut but great work by Louis.

Ruut drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ruut jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Martin Louis.
