Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wolf West (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Wolf West!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Robert Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Steve Erwin and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
West lands with a shot to the body.
Gracie wants to clinch up but West keeps it at a distance.
Gracie darts in looking for a takedown but West gets double underhooks and turns Gracie into the cage.
West misses with a punch to the body.
Gracie prevents a body shot from West.
Gracie drops down looking for an ankle pick but West pulls his leg out and moves away.
Gracie misses with a left hand
and West counters with a nice uppercut.
Gracie throws a leg kick that misses.
Gracie tries to clinch but West is having none of it.

Gracie drives through with a takedown into West's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Gracie throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Gracie cracks West with a solid left hand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gracie wants to pass the guard but West is keeping the position.
Gracie is stalling in the full guard.
West trying to control the position.

Gracie drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gracie jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Gracie throws a big right hand that misses.
Gracie throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as West works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
West is trying to control the position but Gracie postures up.
West tries to land a sweep but no joy.
West is working hard here to advance position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Wolf West wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Gracie loads up on a big right hand but West slips the punch.
West keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

West closes the distance and clinches.
West working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gracie blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Gracie has dropped down and is working for a takedown. West is trying to keep an underhook but Gracie manages to get the takedown into half guard.
West wants to control but Gracie is keeping busy.
West manages to get to full guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

West is controlling Gracie's posture.
Gracie wants to pass the guard but West is keeping the position.
Gracie postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Gracie has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Gracie slips nicely into half guard.
West is looking to improve his position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
West preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gracie throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Gracie thows a huge punch but West dodges it nicely.
Gracie looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
West wants to control but Gracie is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Gracie prevents West from improving his position.
West keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
West trying to control from the bottom.
Gracie thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed West's head.
West is controlling Gracie's trapped leg to prevent Gracie from advancing to side control.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Wolf West wasn't doing enough on the ground.
West keeps the fight on the outside.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Gracie scores with a slapping inside leg kick.

Gracie shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Gracie was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
West wants to control but Gracie postures up.
West knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracie on the ground.
West is trying to improve his position.
West can't do much from the bottom here.
Gracie trying to control the action but West is working from the bottom.
Gracie moves into full mount!
Gracie content just to control the position here.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Gracie scores with a couple of good head shots there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Robert Gracie dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


An inside leg kick lands from Gracie.
West displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Gracie throws out the jab.
West moves out of range of the body kick from Gracie.
West avoids the body shot from Gracie.
West connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Gracie momentarily.

West gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
West gets underhooks to prevent Gracie's takedown attempt.

Gracie jumps guard and drags West to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Gracie looking to hit a scissor sweep but West is one step ahead there.

West is posturing up here but Gracie has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! West tries to roll out but it's too tight and West has to tap! Slick submission there by Gracie!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Robert Gracie!
Our winner, Robert Gracie, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
