Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sam Simpson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rangi Williams!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Jonathan Paton and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams closes the distance and scores with a big combo that sends Simpson crashing to the mat! Simpson uses the ropes to get back to his feet and beat the count. The referee looks concerned but he's going to allow it to continue!
It looks like Sam Simpson has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Simpson swings for the body but Williams moves out of range.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Simpson crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Williams - the referee stops the clock and Simpson gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Williams. Simpson manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
A big right followed by a crushing left from Williams knocks Simpson out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Rangi Williams!
