Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Carl Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Huynh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tommy Huynh!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson slaps away a takedown attempt from Huynh, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Decent striking displayed by Johnson there.
Johnson moves into range and connects with a jab.
Huynh throws a body kick that misses.
Johnson throws a right and a left that Huynh avoids nicely.
Carl Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Huynh falls off balance throwing a combination
and Johnson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Johnson lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Johnson throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Huynh stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Huynh shoots in and drives through. Johnson sprawls well.

Huynh tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Johnson swivels and escapes.
Johnson connects with a good right hand that stumbles Huynh. Huynh circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Johnson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Johnson lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Johnson.

Johnson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Huynh moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Johnson smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Johnson throws a looping overhand right but Huynh ducks down to avoid it.
Huynh shoots in but Johnson avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Huynh shoots in looking for a takedown but Johnson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Huynh's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Sloppy strikes from Johnson. Those never looked like landing.

Johnson thuds his right hand into Huynh's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Horrible takedown by Huynh or perhaps it was just good defense by Johnson which made him look bad.
Johnson lands a glancing blow to the side of Huynh's head.
Johnson is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Huynh tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Johnson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Huynh takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Johnson lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Huynh at a distance.

Johnson lands a left and a right that sends Huynh crashing to the canvas! Johnson dives into mount looking to finish!


Huynh is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Huynh is still in real trouble! Can Johnson finish him?
Johnson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Johnson is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.
Huynh seems to have recovered his senses.
Johnson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Huynh is looking to escape.
Huynh is looking to improve his position but Johnson isn't that keen on the idea.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Johnson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Johnson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Johnson throws a right hand that Huynh ducks under and follows up with a left that Huynh also avoids with ease.

Johnson is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Johnson bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Huynh's head.
Johnson cracks Huynh with an open hand slap.
Johnson connects with a combination that backs up Huynh into the cage. Johnson lands a flurry of punches that gets past Huynh's guard. Huynh is down and the referee has seen enough. It is all over! Johnson bursts into tears - this win obviously means a huge amount to him.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Carl Johnson!
After winning the bout, Carl Johnson thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
