The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dragunav is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Horrible takedown by Dragunav or perhaps it was just good defense by Smith which made him look bad.
Smith lands with a hook. Dragunav tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Smith shoots for a takedown but Dragunav saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Smith lands a right hook to the body.
Smith throws a half hearted mid kick.
Smith shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Dragunav sprawls well. Dragunav wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Smith gets slowly back to his feet.
Smith misses with a double jab
and Dragunav counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Dragunav gets a double leg takedown into Smith's guard.
Smith wants to stand but Dragunav is controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dragunav trying to control the position from guard on top but Smith is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Smith wants to sweep here but Dragunav controlling him for the moment.
Dragunav wants to control from the top but Smith keeps moving.
Dragunav sitting in guard, not really doing much.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Ramses Dragunav hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Dragunav gets a double leg takedown into Smith's guard.
Dragunav is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Smith wants to sweep here but Dragunav controlling him for the moment.

Dragunav decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Smith, up you get!
Smith gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Dragunav counters with a two punch combo.

Smith is rocked!

Dragunav throws a low kick but Smith moves out of range easily.
Oh Smith is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dragunav shoots in for a takedown. Oh, that's a huge slam! Smith is on queer street and Dragunav is pounding down on him with a barage of strikes. The ref is forced to step in and stop the fight. Great finish!
