The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brona on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Brona has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Makinwa.
Brona misses with a wild body shot.
Brona misses with the combination.
Makinwa punishes Brona's body with a nice straight punch.
Brona fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Brona avoids a kick to the body.
Brona gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Makinwa connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Brona falls off balance throwing a combination
and Makinwa counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Makinwa's coach down at Araba Fenice was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Makinwa's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Brona throws a series of punches but Makinwa avoids them all with ease.
The fighters circling - Brona throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Makinwa lands a nice shot to the body.

Makinwa takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Brona gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Makinwa counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Brona is breathing heavily.

Makinwa lands a big right hand that sends Brona crashing to the mat! Makinwa stays standing though and waves Brona back to his feet!

Brona is rocked!
DJ Brona seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Brona is holding his hands too far apart here. Makinwa throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! Brona is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!
