Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between matt hwhos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and dj smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). hwhos's entrance music is Three 6 Mafia - It's A Fight (Best of Rocky 6). A fine choice. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
smith shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts hwhos as he jumps to the side.
hwhos throws a lazy right hand but smith sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

smith closes the distance and clinches up with hwhos, looking for a takedown. smith pushes hwhos against the cage but hwhos circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
matt hwhos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of dj smith.

hwhos drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
hwhos will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
smith wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.

hwhos connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused smith some visible discomfort.

smith manages to work his way to half guard, despite hwhos's best efforts.
smith is looking for a sweep. hwhos is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

hwhos has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The referee warns smith that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
