Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Jim Gibbler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Valeriy Grushevky!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Andrew Berry and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Gibbler!


It looks like Valeriy Grushevky has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gibbler tries to close the distance and clinch but Grushevky swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Some wild striking there from Grushevky.
Grushevky checks the leg kick.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Grushevky has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Grushevky throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Gibbler.
Jim Gibbler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gibbler throws out a loose jab but Grushevky uses good head movement to avoid it.
Gibbler attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

Gibbler gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Grushevky drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Gibbler gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Grushevky has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Gibbler avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Gibbler wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Grushevky has him pressed against the cage.
Gibbler tries to break the clinch but Grushevky is controlling the position.
Grushevky drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Gibbler gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Jim Gibbler has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Valeriy Grushevky.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gibbler has had enough of the clinch but Grushevky keeps him there for the moment.
Gibbler is looking to break free of the clinch but Grushevky has double underhooks.

Grushevky has picked Gibbler up - he's going for a ride! Grushevky dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Grushevky looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Grushevky is looking for a kimura here.

Grushevky is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Grushevky has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Gibbler defend it? Grushevky steps over the head and cranks it - Gibbler is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Grushevky!
