Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Hirano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Antonio Santos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bobby Hirano!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, John Roberts and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santos avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Hirano throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Hirano changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Santos tries to avoid it but Hirano manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Santos to the ground. Santos escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Hirano shoots in for a double leg but Santos sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Hirano's coach down at KPJ's Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Hirano's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Santos in particular looking to stall.

Santos's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

We're going to have a standup here because Antonio Santos wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Santos steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Hirano. That one must have hurt.
Santos seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hirano shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Hirano was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hirano misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Hirano drops Santos with a big knee straight up the middle! Santos is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!


It looks like Antonio Santos has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hirano will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bobby Hirano has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Santos crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Hirano - the referee stops the clock and Santos gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Hirano. Santos manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Santos has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

I would just about give that final round to Bobby Hirano.
Well Hirano has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
