The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruanti throws a leg kick
and Billet counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Ruanti misses with a head kick.

Ruanti is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Billet.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ruanti throws the left hand but Billet avoids the punch easily.
Billet connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Billet jabs Ruanti to the body, keeping him at a distance.

and Ruanti counters with a body kick that stops Billet in his tracks momentarily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Daniel Ruanti will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Ruanti stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Billet.
Ruanti displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Billet throws out the jab.
Billet has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
Ruanti throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Billet throws a solid leg kick but Ruanti takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Billet.
Billet swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Billet throws a front kick aimed at Ruanti's knee but Ruanti avoids it well.
Ruanti shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Billet circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Ruanti drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Billet follows Ruanti to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!
