PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Isaac Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kotaro Fuma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Martin comes to the cage accompanied by Ain't That A Kick In The Head. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Isaac Martin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 71 - 2, fighting out of Tokyo, Kotaro Fuma!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yuuki Gou and Yasuomi Hirokawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fuma fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Martin wants to clinch up but Fuma keeps it at a distance.
Martin dives in and grabs Fuma's left leg, looking for a takedown. Fuma pushes down on Martin's head and hops out.

Fuma drops Martin with a beautiful combination! Martin stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Fuma is looking for the KO!

Martin is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Fuma looks to land a combination but Martin avoids it well.
Oh Martin is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Fuma shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Fuma showed some decent athleticism there.
Martin is looking to escape.
Fuma prevents Martin from improving his position.
Martin seems to have got his legs back now.
Martin throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Fuma really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Martin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Martin tries to roll over but Fuma keeps him under control.
Martin is looking to control Fuma's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Martin avoid being mounted?
Fuma tries to stand and escape but Martin is controlling the position.
Martin is looking to improve his position.

Fuma is looking to take a break and control but Martin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
A big right from Fuma misses.

Martin scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Fuma is trying to control Martin's posture but Martin avoids it.
The referee asks Martin politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Martin prefers to stall for the moment though.
Fuma is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Fuma defending against the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Martin is working Fuma over with some ground and pound from side control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Martin stands up and beckons Fuma to his feet.

Fuma throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Martin.

Fuma clinches up with Martin and pushes him back against the cage.
Martin is trying to push Fuma away but Fuma has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Martin wants the takedown. Fuma is fighting it off but Martin persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Fuma's guard against the cage.
Martin is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Fuma wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Fuma is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

A close round but Kotaro Fuma will probably get the nod.

and Fuma finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.

Fuma looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Martin!
Martin manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Martin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fuma doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Martin is tightening it up a little... Fuma has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Fuma reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Fuma taps out! Nice BJJ there by Martin!

A less than humble Isaac Martin misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
