PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kenneth Omeruo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mercurius Faunus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Omeruo comes to the cage accompanied by The Hunger Games Whistle. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Omeruo shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Omeruo seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Omeruo.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Omeruo - that will leave a mark!
Omeruo turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Faunus misses with a straight left.
Omeruo throws a sloppy head kick and Faunus moves out of range easily.
A swing and a miss from Omeruo.
Omeruo connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Faunus throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Omeruo lands a leg kick that knocks Faunus off balance momentarily.
Omeruo throws a jab when Faunus was well out of range.
Faunus takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Faunus takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Faunus misses with a looping right.
Omeruo pivots, looking for a leg kick but Faunus is out of range and Omeruo settles back down.

Omeruo fakes the leg kick and cracks Faunus in the body.
Faunus has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Faunus avoids a kick to the body.
Omeruo fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Omeruo misses with a kick to the body.
That kick from Omeruo tenderised Faunus's leg. Faunus is trying to keep his angry face on.
Omeruo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Omeruo throws a chopping leg kick but Faunus manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
A slapping body kick lands there for Omeruo.
Omeruo throws a wild body kick that Faunus sees coming a mile off.
Faunus takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Kenneth Omeruo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Faunus connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Omeruo momentarily.
Omeruo moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Omeruo misses with a kick to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Omeruo needs to keep his hands up - Faunus had a free shot at his head there.
Omeruo throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Omeruo throws a front kick aimed at Faunus's knee but Faunus avoids it well.
Faunus lands a lovely overhand right.
Nice defenses there by Omeruo.
Faunus circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Omeruo to the canvas! Omeruo doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Faunus keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

A relieved looking Mercurius Faunus thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
