Williams pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Schmidt back to the cage. Williams follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

It looks like Jamaal Schmidt has been cut.
Williams fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Schmidt.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Williams smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Williams connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Schmidt gets caught flat footed, as Williams shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Schmidt has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Williams has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Williams successfully pulls guard.
Williams controls Schmidt momentarily but Schmidt frees himself.
Williams is trying to hold Schmidt in close to prevent damage but Schmidt has managed to pass into half guard.
Schmidt tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Williams.

Schmidt creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Williams. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jamaal Schmidt.
