Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between BJ Parker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Gerald (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Parker might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Hawaian Warrior. Paul Gerald has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Gerald fails in his attempt to clinch.

Gerald gets a takedown into half guard.

Gerald seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Gerald seems to be looking for submissions.
Parker wants to get back to full guard.
Gerald landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Gerald wants to control but Parker is keeping him busy.
Well, if Gerald is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Parker tries to roll over but Gerald keeps him under control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gerald uses his free foot to push down on Parker's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Parker.
Gerald scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Gerald is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Parker has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Parker bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Gerald looking for a sweep. Not yet Gerald, not yet.

Parker works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Gerald tries to roll over but Parker keeps him under control.
Gerald pushes Parker off looking to stand but Parker dives back in and keeps control.

and Gerald counters with a single leg into guard. Parker didn't expect that.

Gerald is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Parker has a closed guard, preventing Gerald from standing up.

Parker escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gerald gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Gerald is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Gerald stands up and waves to Parker to follow him.
Parker has his takedown stuffed
and Gerald counters with a nice body shot.
Gerald with a jab.

Gerald forces Parker back against the cage and clinches.
Parker has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Gerald is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for BJ Parker. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Parker tries to pull guard but Gerald won't allow it.

Parker is fighting off a takedown attempt but Gerald is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Parker to the mat. Parker regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Gerald advances position into side control!
Parker tries to buck Gerald off but Gerald is having none of it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Parker manages to get back to half guard.

Parker is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Gerald is tapping! Great win for Parker!
