Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yong Travis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Greg Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Yong Travis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Greg Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Steve Erwin and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Johnson moves into range and clinches up with Travis.
Johnson throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Johnson changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Travis fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Johnson clinches up with Travis and pushes him back against the cage.
Johnson manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Travis tries to pull guard but Johnson won't allow it.
Johnson wants a takedown.

Johnson lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Travis is trying to stand back up but Johnson is controlling him

Travis is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Travis tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Johnson has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Travis is squirming around, avoiding Johnson's attempts to control the action.

Johnson looking to secure an arm triangle but Travis defends it well.

Travis might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Johnson lands a heavy elbow.
Johnson avoids the attempt from Travis to control.
Travis regains half guard.
Travis trying to hold on to Johnson's head to control him but Johnson postures up.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Travis tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Johnson manages to move to mount!
Travis can't escape the position.

Johnson moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Travis has worked his arm free - good work by Travis!

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Johnson goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Travis has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Johnson but great work by Travis.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Johnson gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Johnson moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Johnson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Travis wants to get up but he can't break Johnson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Travis is fighting to break Johnson's control of his arms but Johnson is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Johnson pulls Travis in close to prevent any damage.
Travis stops Johnson from standing up.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Travis misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Johnson gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Travis makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Yong Travis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Greg Johnson.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Travis tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Johnson paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Johnson shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Greg Johnson dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Johnson tries for a takedown but Travis circles away easily
and Travis counters with a head kick. That will keep Johnson thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
No luck for Travis with that takedown attempt.

Johnson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Travis!
Johnson wants to stand but Travis is controlling his arm.

Johnson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Johnson manages to break the clinch.
Greg Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Johnson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Travis is trying to defend but Johnson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Travis wants to get back to full guard.

Johnson works his way into full mount!
Johnson tries to control but Travis wriggling away.
Travis is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Travis tries to hold on but Johnson pushes him away.

Johnson looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Travis tries to hold on but Johnson postures up.
Johnson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Travis is looking to escape.
Greg Johnson has got the better of the ground game so far.

Johnson with a couple of short strikes.
Johnson avoids the attempt from Travis to control.
Johnson controlling the pace for now.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee warns Travis that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Johnson is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Travis has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Travis!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Greg Johnson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Johnson tries for a takedown but Travis sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Travis fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Johnson has closed the distance and engaged Travis in a clinch.
Travis could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Travis has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Johnson uses from the top position.
Travis is trying to keep Johnson in close.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Travis is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Travis can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Johnson controls the pace.

Johnson won't allow Travis to sweep him here.
Johnson wants to control from the top but Travis keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Greg Johnson was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Johnson shoots for a double leg takedown but Travis sprawls well. He's pushed Johnson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Travis tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Johnson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Johnson drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Yong Travis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Greg Johnson.
Johnson is trying to drag Travis to the mat but Travis just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Johnson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Johnson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Johnson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Travis fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Johnson avoids it really well and circles away.

Johnson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Johnson blocks a head kick by Travis.
Johnson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Travis tries to avoid it but Johnson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Travis to the ground. Travis escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Johnson pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Yong Travis.
I think Johnson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
