Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hunter Forbes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hunter Forbes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brian Wallace!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Ron Honeybunn and Chris Dean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab lands there for Wallace.
Wallace will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Wallace wants to clinch up but Forbes keeps it at a distance.
Forbes wants to clinch.

Wallace closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Wallace lands in his opponent's guard.
Wallace wants to control from the top but Forbes keeps moving.

Forbes can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Wallace controls the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Brian Wallace.

Wallace closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Forbes did well to prevent Wallace getting side control.

Wallace is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Wallace is looking to advance position but Forbes won't allow it.

Wallace is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Forbes is looking for a sweep. Wallace is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

We're going to have a standup here because Hunter Forbes wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Wallace lands with a shot to the body.

Wallace is pressing down on Forbes's thigh, looking to free his foot. Forbes is holding on for now.
Forbes is trying to control but can't.
Forbes knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wallace on the ground.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Wallace in particular looking to stall.
Wallace wants to lay and pray for a moment but Forbes keeps working.

Brian Wallace has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Wallace gets a double leg takedown into Forbes's guard.

Forbes working a defensive guard but Wallace manages to pass into side control anyway.

Forbes takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Wallace decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Wallace is working for a kimura but Forbes is defending it quite comfortably.
Wallace thows a huge punch but Forbes dodges it nicely.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Wallace seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Forbes does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Wallace wants to pass the guard but Forbes is defending well.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Brian Wallace hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Wallace drives through with a takedown into guard.

Wallace postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Forbes is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Wallace, into his guard.
Wallace wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Forbes wants to control from the top but Wallace keeps moving.

Forbes avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Wallace wants to stand but Forbes is controlling the position.
Forbes might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Wallace is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Wallace keeping moving, preventing Forbes from controlling successfully.
Wallace pulls Forbes in close to prevent any damage.

Forbes avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wallace throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Forbes has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Wallace has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Forbes is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Forbes won't allow Wallace to get back to his feet.

Forbes is looking to work some ground and pound but Wallace has wrist control.

Brian Wallace showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Wallace tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Forbes paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Forbes is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Forbes is staying active underneath Wallace, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Wallace is looking for a kimura but Forbes is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Wallace to get the leverage.

Wallace takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Forbes won't allow Wallace to pass to mount.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Brian Wallace was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Wallace throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Forbes.
Wallace misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Wallace throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Forbes was covering up waiting for the punch and Wallace finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Wallace has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Wallace takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Wallace trying to control but Forbes is working from the bottom.

Forbes wants to stand and escape but Wallace is having none of it.
Wallace wants to control from the top but Forbes keeps moving.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Brian Wallace wasn't active enough on the ground.
Wallace fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Wallace shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Wallace is keen to just control but Forbes is a slippery customer.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Wallace is looking to take a break and control but Forbes is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Wallace keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Forbes's efforts to push away.

Wallace has picked Forbes up - he's going for a ride! Wallace dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Well Wallace has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
