These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matias throws a head kick that misses.
Leighton Matias seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Matias tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Khan paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Matias moves in looking to clinch but Khan pushes him off.
Khan lands with a hook. Matias tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Khan looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Whack! Matias lands a heavy head kick that drops Khan. The ref tackles Matias to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Khan was done.
