Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Zangief (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Doctor Doolittle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zangief comes to the cage accompanied by Metallica - Some Kind Of Monster. Ivan Zangief has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A lazy body kick from Doolittle
and Zangief counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
We've been informed that Doolittle has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Doolittle scores with a hook to the body. Zangief takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Doolittle throws a leg kick but Zangief checks it.
Zangief lands with an uppercut that bounces Doolittle off the cage and back into range.
It looks like Doctor Doolittle has been cut.
Doctor Doolittle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Zangief misses with a leg kick.
Zangief fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Doolittle on the side of the head.
Doolittle moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Zangief tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Doolittle is able to avoid easily.
Zangief takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Doolittle gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Zangief counters with a good low kick that Doolittle was not able to check.
Doolittle lands a nice hook to Zangief's body. Zangief takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Doolittle is looking to chop away at Zangief's legs.

Doolittle looks to score with a jab to the body but Zangief is just out of range.
Doolittle misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Zangief.
Doolittle moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Zangief misses with an attempted mid kick.
Zangief thows a body shot but no joy.

Zangief is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Zangief lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Doolittle lands a slapping body shot.
Doolittle throws the kick towards the body but Zangief avoids it.
Zangief moves out of range of the leg kick from Doolittle.
Zangief blocks a jab.
An inside leg kick lands from Zangief.

Zangief bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Doolittle looks for the body kick but Zangief saw that one coming.
Doolittle throws a front kick aimed at Zangief's knee but Zangief avoids it well.
Doolittle throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A bone on bone clash there as Zangief blocks the leg kick.
Zangief closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Doolittle! Zangief dives in looking to finish! Doolittle is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ivan Zangief!
A less than humble Ivan Zangief misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
