Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rupert Psmith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Neymar Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Santos comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Garota de Ipanema kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Psmith uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Santos.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Psmith.
Psmith blocks a head kick by Santos.
Psmith looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Psmith moves away from the strike by Santos.
Santos slips a jab from Psmith.
Santos closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Santos bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Psmith throws a body punch but Santos moves out of range.
Neymar Santos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Santos lands with a good body shot.
Psmith throws a hook to the side of Santos's head but Santos sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Psmith uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Santos.

Psmith is looking to slow Santos down with leg kicks.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Psmith takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Santos lands a lovely overhand right.

Santos throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Santos throws the kick towards the body but Psmith avoids it.
Psmith throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

A looping hook to the body misses from Santos. Psmith does a little dance to reset his feet.
Santos throws a body punch but Psmith moves out of range.

Santos dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Santos showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Psmith.
Psmith clobbers Santos with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Santos lands with an overhand left.
Santos will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Psmith is looking to land body kicks.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Psmith, right into the meat.
Psmith misses with a left hand

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Psmith checks a leg kick.

Psmith on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Psmith connects with a leg kick. Santos looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Psmith misses with a wild body shot.
Santos throws a right hand that Psmith ducks under and follows up with a left that Psmith also avoids with ease.
Santos pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Psmith has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
An inside leg kick from Santos misses.
Psmith cracks the inside of Santos's front leg.
Santos throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Psmith stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Psmith swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A jab lands there for Psmith.
Santos throws a right and a left that Psmith avoids nicely.
Psmith motions for Santos to come forward. Psmith throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Santos takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Psmith cracks the inside of Santos's front leg.
A jab lands there for Psmith.
Santos fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Psmith.

Santos on the wrong end of a nice hook.

It looks like Neymar Santos has been cut.
Psmith misses with a double jab.
Santos throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Psmith counters with an inside leg kick.
Santos misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Psmith throws a body kick that misses.
Santos misses the shot to the body.
Santos misses with a body shot.
A punch lands to the side of Psmith 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Santos connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Psmith throws a half hearted mid kick.
Psmith takes a swing at Santos's ribcage but misses.
Psmith scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Santos doesn't seem bothered though.
Santos scores with a jab.
A combination from Santos does no damage.
Santos scoring well with a low kick there.
Santos is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Psmith had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Santos looks to land a right hand but Psmith moved out of range.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Psmith throws a head kick that misses.
Santos throws a jab but it's blocked by Psmith.
Psmith fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Santos has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Santos shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Psmith eats them both and turns towards Santos to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Santos lands with a good body shot.
Crunch! Psmith slams his shin into Santos's torso.
Santos lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Psmith at a distance.
Santos looks to land a combination but Psmith avoids it well.
Santos misses with a two punch combination.
A good leg kick by Santos.
Santos connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Psmith momentarily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Santos throws a series of strikes that have Psmith backpedaling.

Psmith is rocked!
Psmith gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Santos gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Psmith is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Neymar Santos!
