The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goncalves shoots for a takedown but Bryce saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Bryce has taken the fight to the clinch.
Goncalves tries to pull guard but Bryce won't allow it.
Bryce landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Bryce lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.

It looks like Santos Goncalves has been cut.
Bryce lands an elbow inside that Goncalves shrugs off.
Bryce lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Goncalves backwards.
Goncalves is trying to pull guard but Bryce has him pressed against the ropes.

Goncalves is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Bryce is defending well.

Bryce lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Goncalves takes a shot to the head.
Goncalves tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Bryce smiles and moves away.

Goncalves tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Bryce cracks Goncalves with a nice body shot.
Goncalves takes an elbow to the temple.

Bryce's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Bryce circles away from the clinch attempt.

Bryce clinches with his opponent.
Goncalves tries for a takedown but Bryce manages to get underhooks.
Bryce is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.

Bryce breaks the clinch.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Goncalves.
A head kick from Bryce lands but Goncalves takes it in his stride.

Bryce lands a big head kick that sends Goncalves tumbling to the mat! Bryce takes a step backwards and waves Goncalves back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Santos Goncalves's cut is getting worse.

Bryce closes the distance looking for a takedown. Goncalves stuffs it but Bryce still has hold of him. Bryce picks Goncalves up in a fireman's lift! The crowd roars in approval. Bryce slams Goncalves to the floor and that's really hurt Goncalves - he doesn't know where he is! Bryce throws a couple of strikes and the referee steps in to save him! This one is in the books!

In his post fight interview, Brenton Bryce started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
In defeat, Santos Goncalves stepped up to the mic, saying 'whatever it is what it is'.
