Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eli Wong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abel McAllister (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Abel McAllister will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Eli Wong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Abel McAllister!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Robert Douchet and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McAllister throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Wong's waist but Wong gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing McAllister off to one side.
McAllister tries to bum rush Wong with a series of wild strikes but Wong uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
McAllister works over Wong's head and body with a nice combination.


It looks like Eli Wong has been cut.

McAllister closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Wong to the mat! Wong manages to get full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
McAllister not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Wong really is a fat lump.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

McAllister lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Wong circles away quickly and effectively.

McAllister closes this distance looking for a takedown but Wong circles away.
Eli Wong has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Abel McAllister.

Wong stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Wong wants it to stay on the feet.

Wong throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. McAllister was covering up waiting for the punch and Wong finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Wong stands and steps away. McAllister gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
McAllister lands a glancing blow to the side of Wong's head.
McAllister shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Wong defends it nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Wong shoots in looking for a takedown. McAllister tries to sprawl out of it but Wong keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. McAllister manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

McAllister fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Wong avoids it really well and circles away.
Eli Wong is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

McAllister shoots in and gets a takedown into Wong's guard.

McAllister is looking to advance position but Wong has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Wong wants to control the pace but McAllister is squirming around nicely.

Wong won't let McAllister get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Wong lands with some vicious ground and pound - can McAllister hang on?
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for McAllister. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wong tries to control but McAllister wriggling away.

Wong goes for an armbar but McAllister turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from McAllister.
Wong is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst McAllister is controlling him.

McAllister stands up from Wong's guard - McAllister perhaps looking for a knockout.
McAllister changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wong tries to avoid it but McAllister manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wong to the ground. Wong escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Eli Wong has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Abel McAllister.
Horrible takedown by McAllister or perhaps it was just good defense by Wong which made him look bad.
Wong goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
We've been informed that McAllister has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

McAllister dives in for a single leg takedown but Wong sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Wong has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. McAllister is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Wong drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Wong can't get the takedown.
McAllister is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Wong is defending well.

Wong is looking for a takedown up against the cage. McAllister gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Wong keeps control of McAllister as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

McAllister wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Wong escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
McAllister fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
McAllister throws a left and a right that both miss
and Wong counters with a head kick.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Wong.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and McAllister counters with a shoot takedown. Wong fights it but they end up in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Eli Wong will probably get the nod.

That's time! Wong's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


McAllister misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Wong throws a series of punches but McAllister avoids them all with ease.

McAllister shoots in and bounces Wong off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

McAllister must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

McAllister wants to stand but Wong has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
McAllister takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
McAllister passes into half guard.
Abel McAllister has got the better of the ground game so far.

McAllister wants to advance to full mount but Wong doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
McAllister throws a strike but Wong rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Wong postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

McAllister scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Wong gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows McAllister to score an easy takedown into full guard.
McAllister wants to control from the top but Wong keeps moving.

McAllister postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Wong is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of McAllister, into his guard.

McAllister keeping moving, preventing Wong from controlling successfully.
McAllister preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Wong throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as McAllister works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Wong might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Wong trying to control but McAllister is working from the bottom.
Wong throwing strikes from guard but McAllister blocks nicely.

Wong thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Wong tries to stand but McAllister is controlling from the bottom.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Wong's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

McAllister kicks Wong off and gets to his feet.
Abel McAllister seems to be getting the better of the standup.
McAllister shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Wong but Wong pushes him off and we're back to square one.
McAllister throws a series of punches but Wong avoids them all with ease.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Wong goes for a double leg but McAllister avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as McAllister continues to drive forward.

And that's the end of the fight!
Abel McAllister comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well McAllister has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
