The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rush misses with a head kick.
Fernandez tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rush swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Rush throws a sloppy head kick and Fernandez moves out of range easily.
Fernandez ducks under a wild hook from Rush .
Rush pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Fernandez tries to clinch but Rush is having none of it.
Fernandez tries to close the distance and clinch but Rush swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Rush tries a head kick but it misses.

Fernandez pushes Rush up against the cage in a clinch.
Rush prevents the takedown attempt.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rush has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Fernandez avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Rush tries to score a body lock takedown but Fernandez shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Rush is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Fernandez pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Rush shoots for a double leg takedown but Fernandez sprawls well. He's pushed Rush 's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
