Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hunter Forbes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Schulze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hunter Forbes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, James Schulze!
The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Hugh Johnson and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Schulze scores with a takedown into Forbes's guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Schulze wants to get up but he can't break Forbes's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Schulze passes Forbes's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Schulze looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Schulze is trying to work for a kimura but Forbes is defending well.
Forbes is refusing to be controlled, as Schulze sits in half guard.

Schulze is thwarting Forbes's attempts to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Forbes is looking to escape.
Forbes tries to get to full guard but Schulze has control of the leg.
Forbes is staying active underneath Schulze, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Forbes pushes Schulze off looking to stand but Schulze dives back in and keeps control.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by James Schulze.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Forbes breaks the clinch.

Schulze changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Forbes looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Forbes is not content to let Schulze control the position.

Schulze is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Forbes knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Forbes really is a fat lump.

Schulze in side control, throwing shots but Forbes defends.
Schulze advances to mount.
Schulze can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Forbes is looking to escape.

Schulze might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Forbes haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Schulze looking to ground and pound but Forbes is blocking nicely.

Schulze gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Schulze moves in looking to clinch but Forbes pushes him off.
Forbes tries to clinch but Schulze moves away
and Schulze counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

Forbes is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Schulze working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Schulze is stalling in the full guard.
Schulze trying to control the position from guard on top but Forbes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref stands the fighters back up. James Schulze was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Schulze fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Forbes to the ground. Schulze is now in Forbes's guard.
Forbes looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Schulze puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Schulze wants to work for an arm triangle but Forbes is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Schulze tries to stand and escape but Forbes is controlling the position.

Schulze not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Schulze wants to take a breather but Forbes is having none of it.
Schulze missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Forbes wants to get back to his feet.
Schulze throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Schulze is trying to control. Forbes wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Schulze shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Schulze content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Schulze is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Forbes is trying to maintain the position but Schulze is very close to passing his half guard.
Forbes might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Schulze wants to pass the guard but Forbes is defending well.

Schulze stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

James Schulze showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Forbes's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



Schulze closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Forbes quickly recovers to half guard.
Forbes is trying to stand.
Forbes regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Schulze.
Schulze wanted to stand there but Forbes had control of the position.
Schulze slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Forbes is looking for a sweep.
Forbes is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Schulze is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Schulze unloads with some shots from mount but Forbes bucks and avoids them well.
Schulze can't control as he wanted to and Forbes manages to get the fight back to his half guard.
Schulze is looking to pass Forbes's guard but actually Forbes recovers to full guard.

Forbes keeping moving, preventing Schulze from controlling successfully.
Forbes wants to sweep but no luck.
Schulze pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Forbes is keeping the position for now.
Schulze wants to control from the top but Forbes keeps moving.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

James Schulze has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Schulze drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Schulze takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Forbes is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Forbes regains half guard.
Schulze is taking a breather. Forbes says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Schulze is just content to waste time from the top position. Forbes takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Schulze throws a big right hand that misses.
Forbes being controlled here, momentarily.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up. James Schulze was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Schulze throws a sloppy head kick and Forbes moves out of range easily.

And that's the end of the fight!
James Schulze comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Schulze has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
