Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Richard Simmons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arturo Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Simmons comes to the cage accompanied by Young Man, Like A Pony, Oh Yeah, Burn Those Calories Fat Ass!!!. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ward misses with a double jab.
Simmons stuffs the takedown.
Some wild striking there from Ward.
Ward changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Simmons tries to avoid it but Ward manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Simmons to the ground. Simmons escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Ward throws a series of punches but Simmons avoids them all with ease.
Ward throws a hook but Simmons avoids it easily.

Ward fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Simmons bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Ward takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Ward takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Ward takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Simmons throws a strike aimed at the side of Ward's head but Ward avoids it well.
Simmons is working Ward over with some ground and pound from side control.
Ward takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Ward is rocked!
Simmons lands a strong strike to the head of Ward. That's dazed him! Simmons looking to finish here. Ward is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Simmons lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
