Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dale McCann!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Taishi Mori!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Robert Douchet and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCann wants to clinch.
Mori misses with a head kick.
Mori throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
McCann tries to close the distance and clinch but Mori swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
A head kick from Mori lands but McCann takes it in his stride.
Mori rushes McCann and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
McCann missing with knees to the body.
Mori landing some nice looking knees to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
McCann misses with some punches.
Mori tries to land a knee to the head but McCann blocks with his arms.
Mori misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from McCann.
McCann throws an elbow but it misses.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Mori.
McCann holding his opponent close, against the cage.
McCann tries a knee to the head but Mori blocks it.
McCann throws a punch but it's blocked by Mori.
Mori takes a shot to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round.
McCann lands a right hand.
Mori manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
McCann passes into half guard.
Mori moves into full guard.
McCann has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Mori to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! McCann is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Mori pulls down on the head and he's put McCann to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Taishi Mori!
