PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tom Tatam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Teppo Tuppurainen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tom Tatam!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Teppo Tuppurainen!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Dirk Anderson and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tatam checks a low kick from Tuppurainen.

Tatam throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Tuppurainen tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Tatam is in Tuppurainen's guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Tuppurainen has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Evil Emp-HEAD HUNTERS FIGHTCLUB ELITE. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Tatam seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Tuppurainen for as long as he can get away with.
Tuppurainen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Tatam cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Tom Tatam.

Tatam changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Tuppurainen looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Tatam, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
