Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dragon Nine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and LaF Earthempires (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nine darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Earthempires tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Earthempires looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Still in half guard, Nine seems content to control.
Earthempires tries to roll over but Nine keeps him under control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Earthempires is still trying to improve position.
Earthempires has hold of Nine's hands but Nine slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Nine wants to work for an arm triangle but Earthempires is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Nine gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Earthempires fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Nine avoids it really well and circles away.

and Nine counters with a nice double leg into side control. Earthempires won't be happy with that.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
